Photographs were also fake ? Or some persons were impersonating all the players & the GK coach ? Who prevented them to hire a car & return for their unavoidable urgent work or office match ? Now Mr. Rafiq please explain your logic to Mr. Kalyan Mazumdar or Mr. Debabrata Sarkar....they will understand even before you speak out...
Train is always fast, safe journey then Bus, Car for such distance. Most probably Office match was next day only. If they had waited for evening trains with AC Sleeper and reserved berth, they would have find it difficult to attend their employer commitments. Playing in Office tournament was their personal choice as season has ended. It is not East bengal fault if Flight was full. They would have sent them in later flight or train but that schedule would not suit them. Janshatabdi is faster then 10 hours Volvo. this train Janshatabdi express leaves Bhubaneswar at 6 AM and takes the distance of 450 km in 6 + hours. I thing at 12:40 in afternoon they reached Howrah. No Volvo or car would have taken them that fast or safe. Fans want them to waste one day waiting for flight tickets??? It is their personal journey, not a trip to represent club.
There has been no mention of any office match commitment in the explanation given by Rafiq. Also the journey by any AC car would have been much more comfortable after a gruelling Derby. They were representing EB club & carrying the Kit bag provided by the club. I don't believe EB club or for that matter any club would appreciate such behaviour from their players & that too senior players. More so there were few current & few ex India internationals so they should have thought all these before taking such a step. Here no way EB can be blamed but the concerned players must be accounted for. By the way any news of the 'Office Match' which was supposed to be played yesterday or today ?
@munna219777 when you are returning from a tournament after representing your club....it can't be personal journey. Also you have to maintain the dignity of India's one of the Top most Football Clubs. You are not representing Bally Protiva or Panchugopal United that you can travel like this. Yes when you don't represent your club it is nobody's business to question whether you travel by Air or by sitting on the roof of a bus.
We were arranging some donkeys to get these players back but then the donkeys refused. If EB joins ISL, office football is what these lot will play next season. What a bunch of pricks who are undeserving of wearing the red and gold jersey.
M/s. Mehtab, Subhasish, Arnab & the rest...what you expected ? No body would notice you ? Can Ishant Sharma travel in a 2nd class coach with India kit bag & get un noticed ? Ok. .you guys have done a wonderful thing being well known & respected footballers of a Very Big Club of India...if you don't feel ashamed & try to shift the blame on others....fine. Be happy...cheers... expect to meet some of you in some similar places in near future.
