    Home tie against Afg & Ban : 6 points
    Away tie against Afg & Ban  : 6 points
    Home tie against Oman : 1 point or May be 3 points

    With the exposure, facilities & money invested on Qatar national team, they will be unbeatable in both the ties, getting 1 point against them will itself will be an achievement for us..

    Only way India to qualify for world cup third round qualifiers is, Qatar needs to opt out of second round qualifiers which is almost not possible

    SC used to send Venkatesh in advance to Bangalore, Mumbai be it for hotel bookings, arrangements for training camp and such stuff.
    Thats where someone local is required which foreign staff willnot do.

    Guys whats the format for 3rd round? Do all 12 teams play against each other or are they divided into groups of 6? If latter then how do tgey select the 5th best team which will play out against the team from CONCACAF region for final WC berth?

    @Chelseafan The 12 teams are divided into 2 groups of 6 teams. The top 2 from each team goes directly to the World Cup and the 2  3rd ranking teams play each other (home and away). The winner will advance to the inter confederation playoffs.

    How the fuck did Oman qualify for the second round of Asian Cup despite losing 2  of their matches while we were knocked out despite winning 4-1 against Thailand!! It really burns me up even now...:(
