they have 5 players yoon tao (korean) Micheal (cost rican) Sogam Kalau(togo) Attwi(togo) Salau Nuruddin( Nigerian )
Oh ya, forgot about him. Well where in the rules does it say they cant have more. The rule is that in the match day squad you can only have 4 foreigners with 1 being Asian. If you look at the squads of USFC for all 4 fixtures they have not had all 5 all at once. Again Pailan it was Sogan who was missing.
Each team can register only 4 foreign players. There is no question of the fifth. Once registered they cannot be changed unless some big injury keeps one of them out for full season. So basically the 5th guy who is not registered is for local state league or he is free to waste his time for no money. Thats why dempo not registering Offei so that they can get some better guy as already they hv registered 3.
Dont joke yourself @Ashlesh Dempo would not have qualified. Yes Dempo only lost 2-0 against the eventual champions Al Saad but that means nothing. Look at the video for the Al Saad Champions League final... that team would kill Dempo in a real match. 5-0 or 6-0 is my prediction.
Lets put the record straight... NO Indian club is ready for the AFC Champions League and why should we have that chance. People will now complain and say how we need a UEFA (European) style and how that would really help us. Well bull fucking shit. Look at the current I-League. We would be killed, any team in India would be. Hell we cant even perform in the fucking AFC Cup. Lets he how your Dempo copes with that. In 2011 you guys were creamed by Nasaf and even lost to Al-Ansar.
Prove it at AFC Cup and then we can push for the Champions League. Same for East Bengal.
First off sorry @Ashlesh if that post seemed to harsh towards Dempo... not a very good day for me (Obama damn it!).
Anyway in AFC Cup Dempo need to perform but I doubt a 34 year old Suekora, Koko Sakibo and Stephen Offi can do it. Rohan Ricketts I hope will be ready on time but you guys need better foreigners.
Suggestion time.... get rid of Stephen Ofei and sign Peruvian defender Jesús Álvarez from Peruvian Champions Sporting Cristal. He is a 31 year old international and can play at Center-Back. His experience with good teams at international and club level would help Dempo a lot.
Then take advantage of the AFC rule of 5 foreigners and sign Dennis Alas of El Salvador. He is the captain of the El Salvador national team (Ranked 78 in FIFA), 27 years old, and he is a midfielder. At international level he has 81 Caps with 3 goals. Not a goalscorer but a player who can easily gel with your midfield and help provide for a older Ryuji. He currently plays for a club in El Salvador and they do not pay well at all. I am not 100% certain but I believe Dempo can flush the money for him.
Basically when I see Dempo play in the AFC Cup I want to see this line-up...

If thats the case then fine. Just dont have all 5 be in the 18-man squad. We cant be that stupid.

may be Dempo will loan out Rohan to a foreign club making huge monetary gains...just a guess
