As for promotion... look at Dodsal FC. How many users on here knew who Dodsal were before they formed the club? TATA would come in for the same reasons.

tata doesnt need to form a football club to get noticed  at least in India

Its not just being noticed. Its getting the word of Tata out which will lead to money gains.

Sadly I won't. Indian football has been duped before by companies who want to "help" Indian football before and all I want is confirmation that is not the case this time.

As for my questioning, it still seems like a marketing and promotional campaign for Tata the company. You guys have said that the city is also named Tata (or is known and named after Tata) so even if they name the club Tata FC it will be okay but what are the chances of Tata the company creating a naming the club that for the city secondary naming reason.

The reason why also Tata would go in for more marketing and promotion is because of the newer opportunities it would make for them. An extra avenue for money. Why do you think big name world wide companies like Barclays and Pepsi associate their brands with the Premier League and the Indian Premier League respectively, keeping the logos of both leagues similar to the look of the company logo.

That is why I am refusing to drop this.
