TATA is going to launch TFC based in Jamshedpur..They have applied to AIFF to play in the coming I-League 2nd Div..Though they are yet to register as a separate company
They wish to promote their company name-Tata. Dont care much about associating themselves with fans at Jamshedpur. There was Tata Sports Club in Bombay which won Bombay League many times. http://www.rsssf.com/tablesi/indiabomchamp.html
Well, thats a great initiative, finally a proffessional club in TATAnagar and even "Jamshedpur" name is based on the founder of the group. For guys born and brought up in Jamshedpur the city will always be known as TATA and I don't think locals will have any problem with the name .Most of the guys in Jamshedpur are somehow associated with TATA group of companies be it TATA Steel/TATA motors/Tinplate . Also, normally people in Jamshedpur use Tata more often than Jamshedpur so it won't be a problem at all. Also, there is a football culture in the area as most of the natives play football.
So, go TATA FC and they have the best talent pool available in India and they will not require even foreigners in their team . They had won it in 2006 so hopefully even this year they will be a team to watch out for. You can never count them out if they are serious .
Tata Sports Club already exist in Bombay. They used to play in Rovers Cup. How about making a strong team there and Bombay will have another team. Rovers Cup is starting anyways.

Why Tata FC. Why not Jamshedpur Tata FC or just Jamshedpur FC.

Jamshedpur City is more popularly known as Tata.
Tata FC would struggle to gain any fan base with this name
