@sam: not very clear to me also...you must remember how local news channels like Xtratime and others were reporting that there was some uncertainty regarding Wedson's joining EB even though he had signed a deal with the club a couple of months back as Sk. Jamal were reluctant to issue a NOC...well then this report popped up in InsideNews Bangla about how Wedson had out-maneuvered the Sk. Jamal officials and obtained a release while he was on leave in Haiti, but that was old hat (http://insidenewsbangla.in/sports/wedson-east-bengal/)...the only extra evidence they could provide was that of a screenshot of Wedson's FB page where he had written that he would leave Bangladesh after this season and would be playing for a new team...after that it more or less became accepted everywhere that he would play for East Bengal Wedson in a five-star hotel in Kolkata to sign the deal with East Bengal...any idea guys, which five-star hotel this is?
Who made this signing? And how is he better than Ranti Martins? Did the coach and officials actually see his video? And Wedson is a name I have been hearing since Dhanmondi came to play here 3 years ago. Is his current form taken into account. The I-League is getting tougher and the B-League should not be a parameter. He has to be better than atleast Ranti. I would say it's more of a signing by officials than the coach. Morgan is also happy because he will have his alibi ready at the end of season. And yes it looks good for the Bengali paper headlines- "East Bengal signs the other half of deadly Sony-Wedson duo"
Also a difference in the ages and the type of player between Sony and Wedson. Wedson is 30 (will be 31 next season) for example compared to Norde who is 27
