when did i say a 2 month league will be sufficient? @ashindia. look at my previous comments, i also think a 2 month league isn't enough, 40 years marquees are quality wise shit. i repeatedly addressed those issues. but problem is that we are too adamant to address issues of i league. it isn't even the best league in saff + asean. we can't even win a 2nd tier tournament. we can't go pass the 1st qualifying stage of elite league.
@archak Do you think ISL will expand to 8 months ? Really if they wanted to do that they would have straightaway joined I-League like JSW but no their aim is something else, while companies like JSW and Dempo have invested in different sports with some real vision not just football.
Simply copying IPL and crap will not take you higher all the way if that was the case then World Cup playing nations would be scratching their heads. IPL, Hockey League, Kabbadi League etc are first of its kinds in respective sports and have the best players playing in them.

@footydip ; Well Football is number one sport in all those countries. In India, Football is atleast number 3 in popularity (sorry to say but Cricket and Hockey are more popular). Still we are competing in crowd number with those countries. Average will rise if we remove Mumbai FC which has to play in Pune because of Cooperage Ground issue.
I-League is not great I agree but ISL is not the way bro, well even Thai League was very amateurish once having boasted of house full games and then suffer long dark patches in early 2000's when it struggled to get 3000 fans but they have picked up things now.
I still believe if AIFF can educate the clubs more and improve themselves first then surely I-League can go on to become top class in coming years.
If you go that way then every league will have 1 or 2 teams which will get more than rest of them. Guangzhou Evrgrande of China gets 42,000 average now dont say its all because of them that CSL has 19,000 average.
If I-League can get Cooperage playing for Mumbai FC instead of Bollywood FC, few better maintained stadia and then decent marketing of league should easily cross 10,000 mark.
