I believe If coach and his assistant have complete or majority say in selection of players then better players will be taken. But other wise today its bhutiya agency tomorrow there might be some other agency
India should withdraw from all international tournaments for next 15 years. The Federation and the football teams of all age group are bigger embarrassment for the country than even poverty.
European heavyweights in race for Indian football coach's job
Former Bengaluru FC coach Albert Roca, who has reportedly applied for the post of India's national football coach, is expected to face a tough challenge with the likes of Italian Giovanni De Biasi and Swede Hakan Ericson also in the fray.
"Roca, De Biasi, Ericson and Croats Igor Stimac and Robert Jhave reportedly applied for the India head coach's job to replace Englishman Stephen Constantine," sources told TOI.
"Massimiliano Maddaloni, who was assistant to Marcello Lippi, in China, NEUFC coach Eelco Schattorie and former BFC coach Ashley Westwood are also in the race," they said adding that AIFF got close to 40 applications for the job. While the previous coach was reportedly earning $3,00,000 per year, the new man in charge could even get $3,50,000 to $4,00,000 per annum.
Among the coaches, De Biasi comes with the biggest credentials. An UEFA Pro License holder, De Biasi was the first coach to lead Albania to the Euro in 2016. The 62-year-old Itallian, ranked as one of the top coaches in the world in 2015, was later in charge of Spanish club Deportivo Alaves.
I dnt think AIFF can afford anyone listed in the above article. Except for Roca, Ashley and Eelco. The rest are too old or they do not know anything about India and how we run our football. So my money is on Roca.
They are throwing up Big Names just to hide their inefficiency.
So many months have passed and there is no Football Coach. We have missed FIFA match dates and no Friendly for Senior Team has been organised. New Coach should have been here seeing the last part of domestic season and building team for World and asia cup qualifiers starting coming September.
We Indians are glory hunters and whenever any Franchise team has a fake owner name attached to it (Flop Actor/retired cricketer), fans become happy and forget other things about the team.
