As for Calicut stadium,renovation works getting fast pace as the stadium going to host football matches in upcoming national game which may start in Jan next year,the major concern is that Kerala Cricket Association all set to lease the stadium for long period,which may cause difficulty in conducting football matches there
Cricket in Calicut stadium? The boundaries on both sides will be very small-any First Class Cricket is not possible. I guess some Veterans match has been organised there but I doubt that any First Class game can be played there. For Cricket, one needs a Circular, Oval or Elliptical type of Ground. Calicut Stadium is like a Capsule shape-they will need to demolish stands to get desired width to play Cricket.
Artificial Vs natural turf .. Can some one explain the pro and cons of artificial turf ? Is that too bad t play the game .. But if i am not wrong i have read some where that Moscow Luzhinski stadium has used artificial turf till 2008.
Film stars at Cooperage Ground this weekend. Cooperage Ground has no problem in hosting film stars play football but come I-League, there is no permission.
But then why did FIFA gave 2 Million dollars for Cooperage Ground? So that some film stars and NGO do some promotion of films and play charity games?? or some rich businessman children wedding function?FIFA grant used for film stars promotion function but not for competitive football game for Mumbai players???
Cooperage ground does not pass as a venue for the U-17 fifa world cup. I read an article somewhere where one of the officials stated that this does not look like a stadium whilst pointing at the temporary stands. It was more of training facility for him.
