YBK needs lot of work than just flood lights ....they need seating in entire stadium...the current stadium is shit they need lot of work to call this stadium world class
agreed, but atleast proper working floodlights will ensure evening games
It’s the 10th day of the ongoing Subroto Cup and Barefoot’s Amlan Jyoti Das bump
ed in to the captain of a visiting Under-14 school team from Afghanistan. Talking about his experience in India, he mentioned that his team was taken out of their original accommodation and are currently made to put up in the dressing room of Ambedkar Stadium. Apparently the same was done to the girls team and after a lot of protest, were they re-stationed. With a straight face, the 13 year old asked Amlan, if this is how guests are treated in India. We wonder if the authorities are listening, should we really invite teams if we can’t be hospitable.

At least get floodlights. After that.... destroy it.
@Arsenalkid700 Disagre completly. Ybk has so many pepoles emotions to it. It is almost like 'national tresure' to thousends of bengali football fans & for me too.

It is still a very, very crap stadium that even if it has reported 20,000 a game that you guys say then it still looks empty.
Which is why the Salt Lake is useless. Even with 60,000 a game the stadium would only be half full. I dont know if you know this but I am HUGE FAN of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan playing there I-League games at there respective stadiums as they are smaller, closer to the pitch (Just do what they do in Germany and Italy and create huge ass fences to block angry fans) and the atmosphere in the stadiums would be great.
I hear you guys talk about the pressure of Kolkata and playing in a stadium FULL with MB or EB fans will really do that.

Is there any stadiya which can hold a full-blown eb vs mb match?
The Salt Lake can but that is 1 game... maybe 2 games a year in I-League and at most 6 a year if other tournaments are added. Other than that though the attendance would still be very small at the Salt Lake.
Is Kolkata city so packed that we can't even think of building a new stadium?? It's always better or best if you have a home rather having a rented house. If Salt Lake owners are so arrogant with their attitude on not giving up or even sharing the ownership of the stadium, and also, if both EB and MB maidans are not even to the standards, neither in quality nor quantity; why don't they, both EB and MB join hands to build a single stadium together? If both clubs can combine for such a mission, investers will rise in leaps...A new stadium, ownership and share stake equally shared by both clubs, a 90k all chair seater, with no interference from army, politics, and violence, but a healthy rivalry within the pitch, and excitement down the stands...
