India finished 3rd and qualified for 3rd round but afghanistan & bangladesh also qualified so what benefit we will get for qualifying as 3rd best team.... Is it related to pot... someone explain please
It will sound funny to some of you but When something trend on Twitter it is noticed by everyone so let's trend #saveindianfootball or any other hashtag ask AIFF what they are doing...to improve indian football...what are their plans for future... 10 years before 2022 world cup was the target now 2026 when 2026 will come it will become 2034 so We fans need to make our voice louder so that it can be hear by AIFF & Government. They should understand that we are really disappointed with the performance.....it's time to wake them up.... Me to bhut disappointed hoon kl se We have players but from federation to coach sb bakwas hai hmara.... Think about it @namewtheld is an IAS When he will tweet about indian football it will be notice by everyone very well need to tag Sports minister....Kuch to karo bhai log nhi to india Asia Cup me bhi ni hoga 2023 ke
If we play like this, we will not go anywhere. Leave about Top 10 or 12. With this kind of performance, we can't be even in top 16 in next 2-3 years.
Afghanistan is technically good and they dominated us. To be frank, I was waiting for final whistle.
Sana Singh & Glan Martins are find of this qualifiers. Players like Ashique, Glan Martins & Suresh Singh technically may not be good. But they played with right intent, having 11 such players like them on field would make lot of difference.
Goalkeeper: Gurpreet is busy in the goal post. But most of shots are towards him and Afghanistan had one brilliant shot on goal and we conceded it.
Defense: Both Sandesh & Subhasish had a bad game. Sandesh gave away too many balls, all he has done is, for all of his miss-passes, he raised his hand. But at the moment , we don't have better defender than him. Sana Singh is very good today & won almost all headers & it is good have a Centre Back who is comfortable with the ball. One bad game of Subhasish can't define his role in NT. He is good in defense and mainly we need him against superior teams and he can fill in C.B role as well. Akash Mishra is good backup for Left Back. Rahul Bheke is poor today as well. He is either making reckless challenges or falling on ground. He did make a couple of good tackles but we need replacement for him. Might be Pritam carrying some niggle else coach would have started Pritam. With the addition of Seriton & Asish Rai, we will be good in Right Back as well.
Midfield: Ashique is excellent in game followed by Sana Singh & Glan Martins. Even I believe Suresh Singh had a good game. Neither Chhetri nor Manvir is not ready to collect Ashique crosses. Though Glan Martins made few mis-passes, he made lot of good tackles. Suresh is good in both defense & attack. But he needs some more time to improve on few aspects. Brandon had a bad game. But we don't have better player than him in midfield who can create chances & hold the ball. Though Apuia is good with the ball, I don't think he is ready to face top Asian nations. Need to give few more chances to Bipin Singh. With the addition of Borges, Thapa , Chhangte, Sahal & Hitesh Sharma, we have good options in mid-field. On top of it, we have young players like Amarjit & Jeakson
Forward: Both Chhetri & Manvir off today. Manvir is in NT set-up for more than 3 years. Still Chhetri & Manvir don't link well. Manvir got enough chances to prove himself. He got chance in all 8 games & hardly made any impact. Coach needs to give more chances to Liston Colaco & Ishan Pandita.
Overall in this qualifiers , we are good in defense and conceded only 7 goals in 8 matches compared to 18 goals in last qualifiers. We have good options in mid-field as well & few mid-fielders are technically good. Mainly we are lacking in striking department. We don't have many options and need to chip-in players like Bidyashagar Singh, Vikram Pratap Singh , Gourav Mukhi, Rohit Danu & Jobby Justin immediately in N.T setup. If Jeje is match fit, we need to bring him back.
As mentioned earlier, Stimac needs to go away with 4-4-2 & 4-3-3. We have to play 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-1-2 against weaker opponents by having 3 man C.B. Narendar/Subhasish should start along with Sandesh in C.B. Sana singh perfectly fits 3rd C.B/Sweeper role and can utilize pace of Seriton, Ashish, Ashique & Akash Mishra in Wing-back position. As we have good defensive mid-fielders like Borges, Glan & Thapa, having one/two players in starting XI, then players like Brandon, Apuia, Sahal & Bipin can play in more advanced role.
3-4-2-1 or 3-4-1-2 is very flexible option. If we used to 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-1-2, when-ever we are playing against top Asian nations, we can easily switch formation to 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 or if we have to counter them, can switch the formation to 3-5-2 or 3-4-3
Firstly - everyone knows Vietnam is better than us. What is the point stressing it again. From two years back i see - Time Of India sports writers are out performing Hindustan Times sports writers based on their knowledge and expert analysis. Do you want to resign mr HT writer. You have a job you are doing. Same way every one is doing their job, results take time - first make sure the basics, structure, competition at every level is increased so the quality goes up and then we could compare ourselves wtih Vietnam. A lot has changed with AIFF and they are in fact making an effort to modernize and keep up - it is just a humungous task. Let our kids and juniors and seniors learn how to play flootball for sometime - then we could expect results.
