I have consistently followed Manish's performance in all the matches he has played so far since the big derby where he scored. I present my analysis as follows.
Pros
1. Lots of enterprise true punjab da puttar style, kaafi josh bachchon mein, therefore no dearth of penetration,
2. Wants to score, gets or tries get close to the goalmouth with speed, can win penalties given the quality of some of the defenders, even in the I league.
Cons
1. Has sent in four crosses this far which did have a hint of inswing but all wayward, sailed over the head of everyone and landed just outside the box.
2. Always cuts in and runs towards the box as mentioned before makes him very predictable. He must consider himself lucky that coaches in I-league ain't that observant, in fact Sanjay Sen had his left back bottle him up for good in the Prayag game. Those who carefully observed Robben in the Bayern Munich game could see how much trouble was Nabi having containing him since he would feint one way, go the other and whip in those extremely dangerous low flying crosses. Forget Robben, even wingers like Bidesh Bose, Manas Chakraborti could do this with elan and unfailing accuracy in the eighties. Unless he learns to cut and dodge both ways, he will end up another Snehasish Chakraborti who can cut on the outside, Manish cuts on the inside.
3. Lack of passing accuracy, especially the final pass to the strikers are almost always wayward.
4. Funny free style wrestling of opponent defender once blocked, this needs to stop immediately, he should pass the ball and not gift the opponent free kicks.
Nice scouting mate. You should apply for the AIFF National Selection group if they open the post up (Hopefully)
Of course though he is very young and should improve with age. He will come good but not now. He should be coming off the bench regularly for Bagan right now in the I-League.
Thanks arsenalkid, I have been doing this for leisure from the early eighties when I was very young, all for the love of soccer. I have watched every game on TV/ground since then except during my decade long stay in the US when I missed many games since recording them was little difficult. I would be more than happy to be involved with AIFF, in fact I applied for their regional academy advert but they want you to attend interviews in Delhi. Given my busy schedule in running my own private equity business and hectic travel schedule abroad, which I am willing to give up for contributing towards India's soccer development, it's not possible for me to do things out of Delhi, since I neither have any business interests in the city nor like the city enough to base myself out of there. Also AIFF is a very poor paymaster for Indians (the foreigners extort superfluous deals out of them and give almost nothing in return) and will give me peanuts I am sure, so not wise to give up such a lucrative business entirely to serve your country when you won't get the deserved importance, given the petty interests running football in the country.
Last world cup, I used to watch germany's games with a bunch of germans and they too were very impressed with my match reading skills, so much so that they advised me to get involved with soccer development in India.
Anyways, my apologies for the rant but I never believed that Indians are worse than anyone, it's just that the ones fit for the job don't even get a chance in their lifetime given the intense battle required to push out the politically connected bigwigs who or whose henchmen hog every position of power.

That is sad but true. More money will come from your buisness and not AIFF.
Had a chance to check out George Allwyn in yesterday's game once again. The first time I saw him was earlier this season when KEB played practice matches with TFA. I seriously think he should be drafted into the Indian national team until Jeje comes back from injury. While he is deficient in the high spot jump, he can do the rest Jeje can, more than that he has a better dribble, can hold the ball. Also his shot from range although lacking in power are mostly on target.

Sounds good so far. Of course its only 2 games (one of which is a friendly) but George seems promising already.
