Make no mistake, Mahesh Gawli, few years back signed a contract with Dempo with record amount(first Indian player to hit a crore mark), Subrata Pal was lured by PFC couple of season back with record(post that, the price of goalkeepers have gone thru the roofs); it was the kolkata clubs, who had repeatedly raised voice that time, yet no paid heed to their concern. So lets be impartial in our judgement and not make biased comment. Dont think, Dempo could have retained the nucleus of the team for the last 4/5 years, if they had not offered huge amount to their playrs - its a different thing that it never came out in the press. So, I think its fair that Kolkata clubs are now on the hunt for big names with big money.</span>
Haha, surely he will but not all clubs are doing it specially the ones in Goa. Dempo has been doing it and Salgaocar and Churchill are relying a lot more on youth this year.
They started this trend long back and now everything is going out of control they started screaming.CB looking for young players not by choice(election results are important factors too).Salgaokar is far better compared to other goan clubs for sure.So Goan clubs are paid back in own coins it seems.<br>

Yes agree on that but for that you need to look at the players MB recruited last 2 seasons. If MB spent money on the players who left their ranks(Except Deepak) that would have been total waste of money. This season they persisted with good performers and young guns like jewel, nabi,Manish,Deepak so I am happy about that. But until and unless AIFF put some salary cap this can't be controlled.<br>
@shankar man city? Bengali press journos are calling them "REAL" madrid. And you know what I mean of "REAL" here
<br><div><br></div><div>hmm ya but you cant call them real madrid....prayag hardly have any history like real madrid possess...at least the name would have went good for mb</div>

<br><div><br></div><div>Yea salary cap is the need of hour nothing else could save indian football now....or else we will see at least 2-3 clubs shutting the shop in coming seasons with reason of inability to fight with heavy spending teams or may be these heavy teams might shut it for lack of funds after some seasons</div>

<br><div><br></div><div>Why salary cap? Did we ask for the same when Goan clubs were throwing away money to sign/retain big names? Only b'coz the big clubs in Goa have been affected this year badly with some of the big names joining Kolkata clubs, some are talking of salary cap. This has emanated from the Western front this year!!!! Afetr years, Goan clubs have not been able to match players'(big names) salary with Kolkata clubs; infact you would see, this year most of the ageing payers/fringe players from Kolkata's big clubs have been approached by Goa clubs as opposed to the stars and hence the talk!</div>
