<div>Why salary cap? Did we ask for the same when Goan clubs were throwing away money to sign/retain big names? Only b'coz the big clubs in Goa have been affected this year badly with some of the big names joining Kolkata clubs, some are talking of salary cap. This has emanated from the Western front this year!!!! Afetr years, Goan clubs have not been able to match players'(big names) salary with Kolkata clubs; infact you would see, this year most of the ageing payers/fringe players from Kolkata's big clubs have been approached by Goa clubs as opposed to the stars and hence the talk!</div>

<br><div><br></div><div>It is not about goan or kolkatta football but we are worried about the indian football which is being affected with this inflated salary......</div><div>and with salary cap implemented some money could be forcibly used by clubs for benefit of their youth system/infrastructure or even increasing the fan base..</div>

<br><div><br></div><div>U think Real Madrid threw it away by signing big names! ??? Remember how Zidane/Beckham/Roberto Carlos/Henry and more recently Ronaldo were signed by the club with huge money! Did that bring an end to the club's fortune or La- Liga lost all the sheen b'coz of that! ?</div>

Well we can bury this Goa vs Kolkata debate now ! I guess the only reason nobody raised a cry when Goan clubs were splashing their money a few years back was bcoz there were no IFN FORUM back then!!!

now that's different thing altogether. If joaqim lied about his financial status what can I do?
but I've never questioned any clubs financial things. I posted my comments on some other issue I guess

as @debjit1925 mentioned goan clubs aren't investing in their team. So I just posted my view on how they had been doing financially while making a team. I don't want to know anyone's financial position.

  • MB to announce their squad on May 18th ... lets see whether there is any surprise !
  • <font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Okay can we stop this shit! I am fucking tired of this Goa vs. Kolkata shit. That is why I came here, everyday I would go to goal.com or facebook and see those fights and everytime I comment for them to stop they curse me off. Here this place was neutral until a month or two ago. I want that back on here.</font><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Anyway @Soccerlover You need to understand that I-League and Indian Football is not like Europe. We need a salary cap, expansion, loss of pro/rel for financial reasons. Our clubs are not like big Euro spenders like Real Madrid who get money from the city of Madrid all the time, or Man U who are pumped from a sugardaddy and same with Man City.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">In fact we are far away from that. Yesterday I posted Juan Pablo Angels salary on here and it was $1.25 million (6 crore) but that is to much for Indian Football... well a 3RD DIVISION EURO SIDE can easily sign him 4 TIMES THAT AMOUNT and they would still have money left over. That shows how bad it is.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">And look at the amount of money being offered here. How can you say you are happy with this. Tolgay is not worth what he is. Even Pappas said that is not even close. As for Indians, why are they getting payed that high! You do know that now if a foreign club wants to sign an Indian they will be turned down by that players salary.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br></font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Anyway the luxury of a salary cap controls the spending in the league which is what we need. The Indian audience does not want to support the small teams, they only want to support the big teams. A salary cap would create parity in the league meaning that no team in I-League will be so dominate that we have a Real Madrid vs Barcelona here, it would be equal and thus meaning that all the clubs are big and the Indian audience would love that because they would know that there favorite team would have a chance to win thus meaning more chance of them coming. That also factors into why I dont like pro/rel but I wont go into that.</font></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2"><br>Also on a financial sense, in MLS we have been doing the salary cap for 16 years and have only seen 2 clubs die and that was only in the beginning through bad ownership. Sense then MLS has risen and the salary cap raised and modified to allow 3 stars that dont count to the cap. The cap has also suppressed the roster number and has made sure that starting in 2009 that ALL 16 clubs were profitable (Today it is 19) and that also factors into relegation and why that was good not to have it because MLS had attendances of 20,000 while the 2nd Division only had an attendance of 3,000. Would have been financial death.</font></div>

@soccerlover Do not make it Bengal vs Goa thing. We all are talking about overall Indian football. You can talk about Bengal supremacy at length and someone else will talk about Goa but the truth is that they both are in DEEP SHIT! Because Indian football is in deep shit.<div><br></div><div>If Goa made a mistake, let Bengal make the mistake too. And let the Indian football go doomed. That is what you are implying here</div>
