@soccerlover Do not make it Bengal vs Goa thing. We all are talking about overall Indian football. You can talk about Bengal supremacy at length and someone else will talk about Goa but the truth is that they both are in DEEP SHIT! Because Indian football is in deep shit.<div><br></div><div>If Goa made a mistake, let Bengal make the mistake too. And let the Indian football go doomed. That is what you are implying here</div>

<br><div><br></div><div>U have got it wrong....! U r entitled to ur opinion, but the fact is, we cant have salary cap for players. There are corporates who are willing to fund big teams/names(despite the clubs not winning Indian Premier league),which goes on to show that football is evolving in India; that is also the reason u see some of the foreign coaches are showing interest in coaching Indian Colts/seniors/clubs.How many clubs had foreign physical trainer 3 yrs back? its happening now - and thats part of infra buildup as well. And for all that to happen, u need money! therefore we need to see things from certain perspective..and not get swayed by someone/or what some of the newspapers are saying...</div>
  • The Salary Cap would not count towards the trainers or coaches, only to the players and the salary cap does not have to be all the players.<div><br></div><div>Here is what they do in MLS...</div><div><br></div><div>You can only have a 30 man squad for the whole MLS season...</div><div><br></div><div>In the 30 man squad, 10 of the players have to be under the age of 23 and American. Only 8 can be foreign.</div><div><br></div><div>All 10 of the u23 players do not count towards the salary cap. You are allowed to have 3 STAR ICON PLAYERS that dont count towards the salary cap. So in MLS my New York Red Bulls have Thierry Henry, Rafa Marquez and they had Juan Pablo Angel BUT they did not count towards the cap. Of course though a club cant just say that this player is an icon, that icon must be approved by the league.</div><div><hr>Also I dont know if you dont know this but part of the reason the I-League owners are mad is because there is no salary cap. That has been known for the last 2 years so I dont know what rubbish your saying about investors and shit. There is a reason why there is no investors knocking on AIFF and Dempo's door and that is the horrible structure of the league and the price inflation.</div><div><br></div><div>Also a cap is good because if an Indian wants a high salary but cant get it because of the cap then he would be more interested in trying his luck abroad and get into a club that thinks he is worth that much. Think about this mate, do some research (NOTE: Yes I sound harsh but I am excited actually after the Arsenal game).</div>

LOL that should have been more polite @Arsenalfan.@Soccerlover I don't understand what corporates you are talking about. There are hardly any. Moreover you have to think what benefits Indian football is getting by spending such a huge amount on foreigners? That amount can be spent to build infrastructure and good youth team.I am not against Indian players getting money but I am dead against Indian players asking for money which he does not deserve at all.If this trend persists then some more clubs will surely close down in near future<br>
  • <font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Exactly what Dip said. And yes I will be mean when I have to, I dont know why you guys are pissed. I mean if you dont know why we need a salary cap then I will go against it. Also you guys should look into it. Corporates wont come in this situation and they wont mind the cap. In fact they will like the cap because it allows for good costs and non inflation and if the level of play gets better we can discuss increasing the cap. It is all there and easy.</font><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br></div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; ">Currently we are in a situation which is shit. We have Prayag United, Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and others spending like crazy and you got clubs like Air India and Mumbai who are left to die. You also got the shit players being payed. Do you think Ranti Martins, Odafe, and Tolgay deserve there money! NO! I-League is shit, just because you do well in the league does not mean you deserve that kind of money, everyone has said that but the stupid officials who obviously think that there are only 3 leagues in the world (Premier League, La Liga and I-League) and think it is okay to spend like this. Something has to be done and you guys are saying that it is fine. NO! How does it make sense from an off the field stand point, this shit aint easy! The I-League wont be ready for free spending or proper promotion/relegation for another 20-30 years. It will take time and yet people are saying for it to happen now when it cant.</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Verdana; font-size: 10pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal; "><br></div><div><font face="Arial, Verdana" size="2">Again there is a reason why it has been 16 years and nothing has changed in Indian football. It is time for reform, it is time for a restructure and it is time for AIFF to be men and actually think about the expenses, look at there finances and cut a few tournaments. These things are needed right now, Indian football does not have any luxury right now.</font></div>

The second Foreign striker for EB is going to be either Sean Rooney or Serginho Van Djik (top goal scorer in A-league playing for Adelaide United in 2010-11) according to News Time. This is getting into my nerves now a little. A new name every other day :/
