The best teams in India have been known to have rigged matches including Big two(remeber how even Amal Dutta was unceremoniously axed by MB as the team returned from Rovers cup, if I am not wrong after the very evident "fixed" draw with CB?)....so that cannot be an argument for excluding the best PSU sides. As far as footballing infra and development programs are concerned railways and army are 100 times better than the likes of Hindustan FC/Dd....the PSU sides have never been given a good shot in national league, and it hasn't helped us. Ideally we can have 10-11 pvt clubs & 2-3 of the best PSU in national league.
What infrastructure they have exactly? Do they have anything except grounds? Do they have qualified coaches teaching across various age groups? Do they have any connection with the crowds of the cities they play in? Do they have a promotion budget? Which last NT footballer came up as a product of a PSU club? These clubs should only be allowed to play in second division with no scope for promotion. They wouldn't care anyways and neither will anyone else.
PSU Clubs? They werent exactly crying when they were shut out from i-league. Not a wimper of protests. The reason is exactly the problem, They are there to get tax breaks and CSR requirements. They are and will be happy to be part of a national tier setup and not necessarily the top tier.
Meanwhile for all the people ridiculing PSU , in Mumbai MDFA elite division, a PSU side whom we never see in national stage thashed regular I league participants kenkre....
