They also won't talk cause those arguments would not stand. Old age clubs? East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are our only age old clubs like what European teams are (minus PSG). Sporting Clube de Goa was only formed in 1999 and have nothing. Barely a fan base as well. Mumbai was only formed in 2007 and have been the mediocrity side of the I-League, flirting with relegation almost every season. Shillong Lajong was only formed in the eighties and have not won anything nationally. Salgaocar is old but what, 1956? And to show they only have 2 titles and a few Fed Cups. DSK is nothing at all. Aizawl is also an eighties team. Bengaluru FC was only created in 2013.

Dempo has some national league history, mainly recently though.

And players developed by them? How many players currently playing were really developed by their clubs? How many guys on Bengaluru FC were developed by BFC? Many players in the I-League come from external places such as Tata, Sesa, St. Stephens and various other places. Some come from lower tier teams who just happen to not be in the I-League anymore and some were discovered in state youth tournaments and got lucky either to sign with a team or join say, Pailan Arrows (Holicharan Narzary).

Some of these victim claims are not true.

Still better than 2014 formed clubs, How ISL clubs achieved more than other clubs? Where will the revenue will go ? Who is IMG-R to decide the structure of Indian football ?  What is the significant contribution ISL/IMG-R to Indian football ? 3 months tourney from hotels running on Cricket pitches doesn't make more professional(DY Patil/ Kochi). No need to bow down to them when they have not done or achieved something.  AIFF needs to form, new separate legal entity who decides and maintains the league(Stake holders - Only Club Representative and AIFF office bearers) not the marketing rights owner. BCCI will never allow WSG to run the IPL or any other tourney.

    So right, @Maddie. 100 likes.

More than their age (age cannot be the sole criterion), these clubs have shown maturity to live without support/ backing of their parent body. So in a proper sporting environment, I'm sure they are going to blossom further.

ISL clubs haven't committed anything in stone and mortar. They are still bubbles in  good times, we will see their backs promptly as soon as the going gets into rough weather. And I don't trust their youth development (whatever it is) and RFYD.

Most importantly, as you have asked, Who is IMG-R to decide the structure of Indian football ? 10- or 14- team league, promotion-relegation, 6 or 4 foreigners: why should we let them dictate? The clubs should decide what would be the look of the future league, and how many ISL clubs could be let in, and in what terms.

@karenesudhakar2050 ; The Maths just does not add up. BFC spent money on India pakistan series and prize money as well as subsidy is withheld by AIFF. How much is that in total? 2 Crore Rupees at the most. The Franchise Fees for 3 years is 7.50 Crore Rupees. Atleast 5 crore rupees is missing from AIFF Budget then.
Kalyani Bharat Franchise fees was 2.50 Crore Rupees. where is that? AIFF must have withhled few lakhs of Match subsidy and Floodlight subsidy.
DSK 2.50 Crore Frnachise fees. All they did was hosting Indian Team. How much was that 30 lakhs at the most?

If AIFF dissolve the I-League and FIFA / AFC recognise ISL as the sole sanctioned league. That time ISL can make rules that which club can join them. That also on money ??? That is not happening right now.

@ArsenalFan700 ; I do not know much about the economics of MLS but I will assume that the Franchise fees is unequal there? When Portland Timbers joined MLS, how much did they pay as compared to what New York teams like Red Bulls or City are paying?

@Deb_Ban You make the I-League clubs sound like angles who have not been holding Indian football back for a long time.

@munna219777 NYCFC payed $100 million to Portland's $40 million but Portland was announced in 2008 compared to 2013 for NYCFC.

Wow, AIFF runs away with 700 crores from IMG handing over the domestic calendar to IMG rel to handle, Now we can say them to get the fuck out? Its a 15 year contract.
If AIFF has the balls to go up against IMG ask them to cough up the money swallowed and we have the i-league all year long without ISL.

Can they do that? .... The best thing they can do is work with IMG rel or STFU.
