Promotion and relegation will not be applicable to the ISL but Patel said there could be 10 to 12 teams participating in the event from next year onwards.
If this is what he said then I can see ATK, EB, MB, BFC, teams from other cities too in ISL. Maybe one more from Goa, but then how much support for FC Goa. Personally I feel Goa deserves two teams in top tier, team from Punjab too
Patel said ISL has been a "disruption in Indian
football and it because of this disruption that we are now looking for
solutions".
For the sustenance of the lower division clubs, the AIFF said it will guarantee minimum central revenues to them.
The revamp in grassroots development programmes will continue.
All these fucking eye washers. Aiff is hell bound in killing indian football ti its core. People are not analysing correctly here. Money rules over evrrything else. Wih national league and ileague , aiff killed entire existing structure without putting up something in parallel leading to dearth of enough footballing talents. Now they are hell bound in killing 2 of largest fan base clubs in india and trying to create nrw fan base. Too many questions 1) considering afc regulations how many foreigners woyld play in isl 2) considering current situation do we have enough equal talents to sustain 3 leagues runnng in parallel 3) aiff were not able to run 1 league with lots of financial constraints and burdens. How are they thinking of doing for 3 leagues or they have totally succumbed to isl 4) what guarantee the other 2 leagues will be as sustainable and profitable if at all xomparing with isl 5) isl teams need to follow afc clubs licensing criteria? So will they have clubs tents, practice fields etc as required? 6)how much licensing fee has been provided by isl clybs so far 7) if imgr feels the league is not sustainable later on and opt out, what is the second plan of aiff so that league doeant die out
Make no mistake. Considering aiff efficient hands, there shall only be isl with 5-6 teams in another 5 years. Just thinking of what name would be giving that tournament.
That is horribly cynical and is the attitude that is expected on this forum and other places these days.
We don't need to know the foreigners number until 2017 at least. League won't start till at least the 2017-18 season (and even then probably not) so we have plenty of time to decide how the squads/rosters will work out.
We do have enough talents. Just a few months ago people were talking about all these players who were out of a job cause of lack of clubs and now we might have a 3-tier system and now we are asking if we have enough? We do not even know how many teams will be in the 2nd or 3rd divisions yet! All we know is that there will be 10 teams in ISL at the beginning and thus means that over 120 Indian players will be on squads automatically for a full-season. Meanwhile, on the current system and past system we have seen I-League with 9-14 teams, the 2nd Division have some seasons with 6 teams and others when they have 24! With state leagues like the GPL, CFL, MPL etc and competitions like Santosh Trophy and depending on the number of teams in these lower divisions, we should have enough players.
We do not even know how professional these 2 lower leagues will be. Like, will third division teams be required to have a team with all players being payed or will they be semi-pro and have certain players as full-time?
Other things can be answered with time honestly. This is honestly not that bad of a roadmap, not the best but it is what is was. Just need to know what will happen to Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, and Bengaluru FC.
Despite the great chance of Mumbai FC not in the top division i kind of feel like this plan is realizable and could give us a stable football system in a decade... but then again the question of the commitment from the clubs to reach at least asian standards in infrastructure, youth development and other feature were not at all discussed it seems..
Hopefully this league achieves overall success and our league grows enough to be in a situation to be considered an upcoming nation in the sport sooner

"For one league to happen everyone will need to compromise - we want tradition and we want a strong league"
This means he is not happy??

But Infrastructure will be a big issue as well as logistics if 3 tiers are playing simultaneously
We dont have enough quality stadiums, pitches, training grounds.
Also travelling from one venue to another in India (which is vast) is not even close to comparing with travel times in England or Spain for eg
