@DEFENCE123 how is Jobby overrated ? Few months back most Indian didn't know who he was.. He is scoring regularly .. We have so called "better" stickers who don't do 1 think striker has to do that is to score goals, I will tell you who is overrated its Sandesh Jinghan

I am not getting how Jobby is being overrated... He is the Indian topscorer in I-League: no Indian has scored so many goals in I League in the last few years. Add to that, both Manzi and Plaza have played more games than him. I admit he isn't excellent outside the box. But he is a typical goal poacher, finishing the half-chances with near perfection. He is neither Coro nor Miku or not even Sunil at this stage. But he is one of our rare no. 9s.

To put things into perspective, Joby always had talent, he lacked application and sometimes lost focus during the match...this year under Alejandro, he has become more fit and is hungry for goals...as @Samyajit said, he has become a typical goal-poacher...if we remember the last 2 matches that East Bengal played, both his goals have come from rebounds...shows that he is always on the lookout for goals and positions himself in the right place to convert them...yes, he is more of a box striker and is not much effective outside it...I guess he would get better with time

@goalkeepar saying jobby isn't a national team material does'nt mean Someone justify passi's selection. Bro please maintain a healthy environment for a healthy discussion. Everybody have different perspective of thinking, respect that. You may dislike that but please think twice before mocking someone without knowing anything. Cheers

Btw, I just checked wiki. No other striker since 2013-14 (Sunil Chhetri scored 14 times), has scored more goals in a full-season than Jobby(already 7, yet still in the 1st leg).

BTW @Samyajit, both Sunil and Vineeth scored 7 goals in the 2016-17 I-League...T. Haokip scored 7 in the 2014-15 I-League...of course, Joby has a chance of surpassing them this season

Don't get riled up by what I am going to say but average Indian be it a Football fan or Cricket fan ..... Is plain dumb  :*

Give new comer atleast couple of season of domestic football to prove . There are thousands of one season wonders waiting for their turn.

International cap needs to be earned and not just handover to them based on half or even single season performance.

  • 1. Jobby's Finishing is pretty good , wait better than many usual Indian forwards
    2. hes much fitter than Jeje, Passi etc
    3. even outside box his positioning is good
    4. He works tirelessly to win balls

Its worth giving him chance once (which also goes well as per taklus claim that he give debut to youngsters)

I actually would take Vineeth ahead of Joby..and Joby ahead of Passi and Farukh

@AshishKaul one season wonder ? What has Passi,Jeje,Balwant done this season to get into NT? How you can justify these selected? Job by maybe not that good outside the box but look at his work rate currently there is no Indian player with that much work rate, he fights for ever ball, Pro Quota people in IFN don't want deserving players in NT sad reality.
