I-league trying to guarantee a team from the NorthEast again..

2nd Division teams that have "fulfilled" the criteria:
    1) United Sikkim FC
    2) Langsning SC ( Meghalaya)
    3) Arhima FC ( Meghalaya)
    4) Wahingdoh FC ( Meghalaya)
    5) Guwahati Town Club ( Assam)
    6) Green Valley ( Assam)
    7) Aizawl FC ( Mizoram )
    8) Luangmual FC ( Mizoram )

the 2 teams from Manipur failed the criteria test and Denzong boys have not applied, or we could have had 10 teams staking a claim to replace lajong as the NorthEasts only I-league representative.

Any ideas on when & where the 2nd Division will take place ?

@ Somesh , which team from Calcutta have applied ?
    anyone from Kerela pls update.
NISA didnt applied or was not able to fulfill the criteria???they are the team who had been trying to get to the top division from long time even before shillong lajong...

    @Gaffertape
4 clubs to my knowledge have applied
    1. Md Sporting
    2. Techno Aryan
    3. Southern Samity
    4. Bhawanipore

Techno have already gotten the approval I think.
The group stages will be held in Shillong Siliguri and Nagpur. Final round in Siliguri

Thanks Somesh, but i don't think Shillong will be hosting any matches . The ground isn't even ready for the I-league ?
I think they ill use Sikkim or Kolkata instead.

2010 Bangalore was venue , HAL qualified ( and ONGC)
2011 Shillong was venue , Shillong Lajong & Sporting qualfied
2012 if Kolkata was a venue then Md. Sporting might finally return to the top flight

NOOO! If Mohammedan get promoted that will mean there would be 5 Kolkata or West Bengal teams in the I-League. We need either United Sikkim FC, Royal Wahingdoh FC, Eagles FC, Malabar United FC or Hindustan FC to get promoted.

We need to spread the I-League around. Why not hold the final round in Nagpur. They get huge crowds, the stadium is great, the way they run events is great and it would give the prefect neutral venue so there would be no favorites.

Nagpr being that bastion of Indian football doesn't deserve the final round of the 2nd Division, BUT as far as neutrality is concerned , it would help the non-north Eastern teams if the final phase was played in a hot envirnoment like MP in March, April

My bet would be Sikkim for the final round

Quartz Soccer Club's (QSC) first steps in the All India Football Federation's I-League second division will be with a bold new experiment. Among 20 teams given provisional clearance to the 2011-2012 season, some features set the side quite apart.

I hear only 16 of that 20 will be allowed though so QSC will have a lot to do

if you remember last time 21 teams have participated in the 2nd division......and ya if they are cutting down they should do it from bengal, goa or maharshtra and then may be from shillong....then from rest of country

I agree. No disrespect to West Bengal and Goa and even Maharashtra but when you add how many I-League teams are from these places its 11 (4 in WB, 4 in Goa, 3 in Maharashta)

From the information I gather I hope it would be 3 in Kerala, 2 from New Delhi, 5 from North-East, 2 from West Bengal, 2 from Maharashtra, 2 from Goa.
