  • Who I want Promoted:

    United Sikkim FC
    Royal Wahingdoh FC
    Eagles FC
    Malabar United
    Hindustan FC
Delhi United FC (if they do play)

    My preferred teams:
    USFC – you know why
    RW – again very predictable
Malabar FC/ NISA – because they are on the threshold for a few years
Hindustan FC – because they are performing at the local league/ ND Heroes – because they have good sponsor support

In reality I think Vasco have a good chance; so have a few Kolkata clubs.

i agree with deb-ban and maybe a team from nagpur or so

Yeah of course, one from Nagpur. What are the teams at Nagpur BTW?
  • I dont think a team from Nagpur will play in this years league. 2013 for sure though.

I dont like NISA (The name dosent work for me and for what a league should have. Maybe if they change to Imphal FC I would change my mind but North Imphal Sporting Association does not work for me)

Hindustan FC is an exception to my usual NO COMAPNY NAMED TEAMS rule becuase we need a team from New Delhi and unlike Chirag United Kerala they at least are promoting themselves in the Delhi area in a acceptable way.

    The others... well you know.
  • xcatly these type of name sucks.i wud like 2 support a team with name delhi utd rather than hindustan utd fc or quartz fc.

Agree. But of course becuase of the AIFF being idiots and the I-League owners being obsessed with money we will still deal with Churchill, Dempo, Salgaocar, Kingfisher, McDowel, Chirag, Prayag, Pailan, Air India and HAL.

There is a club in Delhi called Delhi United FC but they need support! Someone needs to start a campaign called "Delhi to I-League" and have support for Delhi United FC or any other club that represents Delhi in name. There should also be discussions with the Delhi Football Federation about a club and about starting a new Delhi Football League. Then during the season the DFF should try to lure rich owners to go to matches and try to interest them into starting a team. Of course though you need a crowd at the matches which if the matches are played at the Ambedkar should work.

Here is an example of a campaign on Facebook to bring a Major League Soccer team to the city of Nashville, USA...

The citizens and fans (and local federation) need to take action. You cant just get an I-League team to your city unless a famous footballer comes from there or your town is Kolkata or Goa.

North Imphal SA and Hindustan FC are fine with me. The first one represent the northern part of Imphal town the way RW represents a locality of Shillong (in reality, the whole of Manipur state will support them), while the latter dreams to represent the whole of Hindustan, the way EB represents the East Bengalis (‘Bangals’)! Only thing is that the name is not anglicized. So what?

Haven’t we had too many ‘united’s, on the lines of ManU? Doesn’t it make the name of a club too predictable and monotonous? But of course, papa AIFF should pass a firman saying company names shall not be added to the club name.

for them to pass on the rule first they have to change their own clubs name which has the name of their sponsors 'pailan' arrows...then only can they think of this idea till then we all have to bear with all names of computer companies, and politicians and all...

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH! Hindustan FC represents a newspaper company name. There another George Telegraph. If they did represent Hinustan then I would be fine but they represent a newspaper. Also NISA. North Imphal Sporting Association is not a good name. And it does not need to be United. It can be...
    1) FC (Name of team)
    2) (Name of team) FC
    3) (Name of team) United
    4) United (Name of team) FC
    5) (Name of team) Rovers FC
    6) (Name of team) Athletic FC
    7) Real (Name of team) FC
    8) Athletic (Name of team) FC
    9) (Name of team) (Nickname) (example: Los Angeles Galaxy)

There are many ways to name a proper football team. And anyway we all know it will be United Sikkim FC and Royal Wahingdoh FC. They shown how strong they are.
