@arsenalkid700<div><br></div><div>i saw all of the matches in asia cup(270 min.)...particularly in match against australia and korea subrata was at his deadly best<br><br>and against aussies he did saved 2-3 corners by punching ..u hav seen prob. 10 min in highlight...i guess...wat will u see in highlight..couple of saves and goals scored ...thats it</div>
<br><div><br></div><div>There are extended highlights that separate the two halves into 10 minute segments. So every shot was there. That is why I choose not to talk about Chhetri but I am 100% okay talking about Subrata as I saw how he dealt with his shots. Chhetri I saw for his shooting but everything else I could not get like movement etc.</div><div><br></div><div>@Bad Good points but about the pundits, keep in mind that many of them never saw his performances in the I-League. All they are basing him on is 3 games, 3 games in which he had many good saves but also many moments of comical error.</div><div><br></div><div>And in the I-League I am not saying that he is bad in terms of just letting many goals in... I am saying that he is bad in terms of everything. The goals he has given away. The decisions he makes. It is just from that that I do not see him making the grade. Not even in 2nd Division leagues where there are many good players. He is not ready and any hype given is just part of the old-English mentality which is to overrate anything that looks good. In this case it is Subrata who looked good in the Asian Cup on a majority and since it has been hype. Has he lived up to it, no.</div>
Mate,he may be overrated however i don't feel so but atleast has got the talent to play against the likes of (Aus, Korea and Bahrain) as he proved.Surely, all will agree with the fact that the way we played we should have lost by atleast 8 goals to both(Aus and Korea) but for his saves.I am not sure but i think he got injured for a long time just after the ASIA CUP so all the clubs interested in him might have shifted their focus.<br><br>Now,if he moves abroad say 4th tier of Germany or if Leipzig get promoted to 3rd tier(highly possible) then he is likely to play against the players of countries which would be ranked around say(80-120 in general).<br><br>Again i am saying,he should be getting selected for the 4 tier because many Afghan players are also playing so according to me we are better than Afghanistan so 4th tier shouldn't be a problem but 3rd tier would be more challenging(as more international players of countries around 80-120 would be playing here) but this is not impossible as he has age on his sid too being a Goalkeeper(probably his best is yet to come)<br><br>Rest as they say is Destiny.<br>
His best is yet to come but he is no where there yet. Anyone who watches the I-League on a regular bases will say that he has underperformed.
Internationally he has many successes like the penalty shoot-outs in the Nehru Cups or the AFC Challenge Cup 2008 and maybe some good saves in the Asain Cup but overall, more than 2 years later, we have seen a different Subrata. One who was prone to error sometimes at Pune and who was benched at Prayag.
As far as those trials of chetri at various clubs..came due to agents links n being indian player with business potential..nothing more. Subrata did well in asia cup but lower leagues hea aiming r lot more physical than what he faced in asia cup. Thts why he should go scandnavia..al habsi is good example to follow.
Subrata should go somewhere else. He isn't go enough for top I-league clubs. Thats why he should try his luck (only luck not skils) in top europian leagues.
Subrata has the class/skill to play for clubs in India. His form is currently at a dip (and obviously can be regained...) but I cannot see why he would want to leave....

Does that say 4th tier Germany?
