Right now they have Lammual stadium for mizoram league but this rajov gandhi after construction will be great with floodlights. I say by 2013 or even 2014-Aizawl FC should qualify for I-league next year.
Sounds good. However I would like Aizawl to wait till it is fully ready.
Right now to me the future of stadiums in I-League and to be the Yashwant in Nagpur and Rajiv Ghandi in Mizoram. They all look great.
Interesting thing is that owner of DNA, Ten Action and Mumbai FC is same zee group. On one hand, it is Mumbai FC who will benefit from Cooperage Stadium and while their own newspaper DNA is campaigning against Cooperage Stadium. #-o

Well it is fact so what else can they say. "We at DNA would like to say that these BMC people are jerks". It seems that all of this is fact right now and nothing against Cooperage personally from DNA... at least not in this article.
One thing I dont understand-artificial turf in a multipurpose stadium which has athletics track. The idea behind multipurpose stadium like Balewadi Stadium, Pune, Salt lake stadium calcutta, JLN Stadium delhi is that they can organise Athletics, Opening closing ceremonies of asian games etc. Now if there is artificial turf, you cannot have events like Javelin Throw, Hammer throw etc. which are part of athletics. So Salt Lake stadium is now unfit to organise any athletics event. So whats the point of having athletics track also? Why not make it exclusive football stadium with bucket seats. I dont think we will ever see artificial turf at Balewadi or JLN Delhi.
As we have shortage of stadiums where Football can be played, I think AIFF should explore those stadiums where Cricket was played in the past. There are some stadiums owned by state government or Municipal corporations but our cash rich Cricket Associations have built there own stadiums now.
Number 1- Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad. Dont confuse it with Sardar Patel Stadium Motera-This one is also sardar Patel stadium where Cricket was played before 1982 and it is bang in the middle of the city. it has floodlights and Football can be played here. May be Dodsal FC (promoted by Gujarati group of UAE) can move here as we do not have any presence of good football here.
Number 2 Fateh Maidan or Shastri Stadium Hyderabad
Anyone remember Afro Asian Games Hyderabad where India Football Team played here. Again bang in the middle of the city and it has floodlights. Cricket has moved to Uppal Stadium so this ground can be used for football.
Number 3 - Sector 16 Stadium, Chandigarh Cricket has moved out to Mohali Stadium. Chandigarh is a good city and a football club from this city will do well.
4) Nehru Stadium, Indore as Cricket has moved to Holkar Stadium. 5) Indira Priyadarshini Stadium, Vishakapatnam as cricket is now being played at new ACA-VDCA Stadium.
If football can be played at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack or JLN stadium Kochi, I beleive that football can be played in these grounds also. I know that people do not like football to be played at Big Cricket stadiums but then I dont see any club building any grounds of their own. BCCI also started with using these government grounds which they had to share with marriage party, 15 august functions and now when they got money, they made their own stadiums. AIFF should start using these facilities which are nowadays hardly used and build some pan-India presence for football.
@Ashlesh I also thought about that. But these grounds are rarely used for Ranji Cricket. Reason- Ranji Cricket matches are also organised by Cricket Associations and when they have their own stadiums, it is foolish for them to rent or lease these grounds from State Government/Municipal Corporation . That will be a waste of money for them. Hyderabad Cricket association will not rent Fateh Maidan and pay 2 lakh rupees per day rent when they have their own Uppal Stadium which they can use for free.
I am not talking about AFC criteria for these stadiums or India National Team but they can be used for say 2nd division I leagues, even Occasional I-league games, santosh trophy or even Federation Cup.
