Alan Gow? He was a prolific striker with Falkirk. And like many before him, he was snapped up by one of the Old Firm and then disappeared, almost without trace.
But now the 28-year-old has gone to new lengths to resurrect his career, after signing a one-year deal with Indian outfit Kingfisher East Bengal, who finished runners-up in the Indian League last season.
Gow may be the first Scot to play in India, but he isn't the first to make his mark there. The late former East Fife player, Danny McLennan, managed Churchill Brothers in India on two occasions in the 1990s.
I am eagerly waiting for this years Indian football season to start. My job posting is just 10 mins walking distance from Pune's Balewadi stadium. I am surely going to be regular for all the football matches there. But the dilemma is which team should i be supporting the most. I love Sporting Goa but also want Salgaoncar to perform like never before by going to the finals of AFC Cup. And the other three clubs equally on my mind constantly are Dempo, Churchill & Pune FC. Somebody from IFNF please help me in deciding which team i should support & why. And maybe the one who suggests better, i can sponsor him any match of his choice at Balewadi.
LUCKY MAN!
The offer from u is really lucrative. I would think of some substantial reason and get back to u soon. Btw, I can suggest u why u should sponsor me. I am in mumbai while other members are much far away. So sponsoring my trip would be easier on ur pocket <!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/handgestures/thumbup.gif" alt=":handgestures-thumbup:" title="Thumb Up" /><!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: -->

A full-fledged revamp say officials would come at a later stage. Right now, temporary measures are on to spruce up the stadium.
Yet, to bring in people to watch the sport, it is other facilities that are paramount. The old stands are going, to be replaced by bucket seats. The project is with Shashi Prabhu & Associates."
Incidentally, architects Shashi Prabhu also redesigned the new look Wankhede Stadium. Says Amol Prabhu, partner, of the firm, "I do not know whether we have zeroed in on bucket seats per se, as plans have gone to the FIFA for approval.
