The point is that with current set up, there is no point in investing in i-League. With no money coming from Sponsorship deal and TV rights, how long can we expect the clubs to sustain? With I-League being demoted to 2nd division in near future, the clubs will find it hard to get financial backings. MB & EB will jump ship the moment they find a way to get in ISL. So, not a rosy picture for other clubs. If these clubs want to survive, they need to demand AIFF to make I-League a separate entity and independent from the clutches of FSDL.
Clubs from North East will survive, but what about others. That is why I-League needs to become a separate entity and become independent from FSDL, else they will continue to depend on the meagre subsidy and when the time for adding Pro/Rel comes, instead of current ILeague clubs, FSDL will invite tenders for new franchise
As per AFC Club licencing rule, League should be a separate entity. So, while clubs will be fined ₹1 Lakh for failing to fulfill licencing criteria, Federation gets no fine for not fulfilling their criteria
