Bengaluru FC averaged more like 7,000-8,000 last season reportedly, they always posted their attendance and it was always around there. And ya look at how full both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan make their games. They did well but they could have done better and I never denied how marketable and good EB and MB are, same with Bengaluru FC. Same with Shillong Lajong to an extent but they did not average 10,000 a game and I need a source on that.

Cooperage Ground capacity is 5,000 and while they got good crowds, better then the past, they did not pack all 5,000. Aizawl was the same, a 5,000 capacity ground. And do you mean if the I-League was shown on STAR Sports or if we had fireworks and stuff for the I-League as well it would be the same? I don't think so. There is a massive drop off from the ISL to I-League. Just look at the grounds for example or even the foreign players and coaches in both leagues. Look at how teams in both leagues do fan engagement both at the away from the grounds, how they communicate online with fans etc.

The I-League could have done this if the clubs and the AIFF actually bothered to do this, if the AIFF was better when it came to selecting a marketing partner and if the clubs were better with their engagement with the fans but they weren't and now IMG-Reliance is focusing on their own thing which I can't fully blame them for but I blame them for the mess we are in and how shitty their thing is for football.

That's what I m saying. They could have made I-League their product and then moved ahead. But now we are in a mess and it's hard to come out of it. It's affecting not only players but also National Team's result. Add to it the complete disregard shown by IMgR for the national team.

That I agree with. Personally I believe the best choice would have been to disband the I-League and re-start a new league with a selective process being done to determine what teams go in the league etc etc.

People say they have neutral view but people here can see the "neutral view" of some members.

According to Wikipedia, Nerocca Fc used to have approx 10-15k crowd for second division league ( first round)

Kerala Brothers fans do sport Sachin masks and chant his name. So he's one of the draws. And foget Sourav, Kolkata do care for ATK (and ISL in general)

Shh@Carbon_14 you are not supposed to let facts interrupt IMG's storyboard

Sachin is one of the draws but he is not the main reason they come to support. He also probably helped pique the interest of a few people but that is the point of the celebrity/marquee.

@Carbon_14 None of those matches had sourced reports but I won't deny NEROCA had great crowds... just look at this. For 2nd Division that is really good.

    http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/1064/i-league/2016/11/10/29358802/bengaluru-fc-granted-afc-license-for-2016-17-season

Congrats to Sporting Clube de Goa, coming very close to gaining an AFC License.

So I guess we can say that the "confirmed" teams for next season are:
    - Bengaluru FC
    - DSK Shivajians
    - Dempo SC
    - East Bengal
    - Mohun Bagan
    - Mumbai FC
    - Shillong Lajong
    - Sporting Goa

No mention of Aizawl in this report, nor other prospective clubs like Minerva Academy or Bardez.
